Based around the coastal town of Opotiki, an easy two hour cruise from Rotorua, are the Motu Trails.

The ten kilometre Dune Trail runs along the dunes from a stunning bridge near town, and takes riders to the start of the Motu Road. 

A gravel road that is carved from the ranges on the way to the remote town of Motu, there are some long climbs and amazing views along the way.

The historic Pakihi Track is accessed from the Motu Road, or riders can carry on to Motu where there is accommodation and food.

The Pakihi is a long downhill run back to a road end, and the route back to Opotiki.

The round trip is about 100kms.
