THE WASH

Wash top

GRADE 2 LENGTH: 0.7KMS

BUILT: After logging of the same stand of forest Be Rude Not To runs through.

GETTING THERE AND OUT:
Bottom end – Off Nursery Rd, The Wash forestry road initially dips down then gradually climbs up the valley, and the trail is signposted on the right near the end of the road.
Top end – by the water station, take the trail (not signposted) by the tall redwood stand and in around 20 metres The Wash heads off to the left (this is also the end of Tickler trail).

TRAIL DESCRIPTION:
A short but sweet little piece of single-track connecting the end of The Wash Road with the intersection point of Direct/Pipeline/Red Tank Roads where a water station is.
It’s a two-way trail for both bikes and pedestrians, so keep an eye out for walkers and bikes coming up if you’re barrelling down. The sight lines are good, at least. The bottom section used to be a jumble of logs and mud, but a couple of working bees have sorted it out and it’s now a great well-maintained all-weather track, an excellent alternative to Red Tank Road if heading from Nursery Rd to the water station and the trails that run from that point.
